IMPORTANT — EAR CUSHION INSTRUCTIONS

TRILOGY™ ear pads are included with all ISOtunes headphones. When you receive the product, try on the size of each ear cushion to ensure comfort and fit. Follow the instructions below to ensure the best hearing protection:

1. Check the ear cushions before each use to make sure they are not damaged or deformed. Healthy ear cushions are extremely important for proper hearing protection.

2. Make sure the ear pads are firmly attached to the ISOtunes product.

3. Place the ear cushions in your ears and ensure that they are installed, adjusted and maintained according to the manufacturer’s instructions in the user manual that came with the product.

AWARE™ technology

Aware™ technology is ideal for people who need to hear the environment around them, but also need protection from loud impulse noises (such as noise from nail guns, hammers, etc.). Active headphone technology improves your awareness of your surroundings and safety:

1. Amplifying the sounds around you that you want to hear;

2. Blocking out the noise around you that you don’t want to hear.

Aware™ technology uses microphones to pick up outside sounds and amplify them through your hearing protection device, similar to a hearing aid. The conscious volume buttons allow you to select your preferred gain level. This means you can wear hearing protection and still hear the environment and people around you at a comfortable listening level. When outside noise exceeds the safe level of 79 dB (for EN 352 products), the Aware™ technology switches off to passively block this noise, similar to conventional hearing protection. When noise from your environment returns to a safe listening level, Aware™ technology switches back on to further amplify the sounds around you. So Aware™ technology is great for those who occasionally work in noisy environments. Aware™ technology blocks noises such as nail guns and hammers and amplifies safe environmental sounds. When constantly in noisy environments, such as working with lawnmowers or sanders, Aware™ technology blocks all sounds until the outside sound is at a safe level again. In this case, we recommend turning off Aware™ technology completely while you are working in this environment. The omnidirectional microphone amplifies the sounds around you through your hearing protection. When these microphones detect loud noise, they quickly lower the volume to protect your ears.

Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) / Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR)

NRR is the standard for hearing protection attenuation across North America, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is the EU standard. The rating number represents the amount of attenuation and is in decibels. For example, if a hearing protection device has an NRR value of 31, it means that it can reduce the noise level by 31 dB. The higher the rating on the label, the more effective the device is at reducing noise exposure.

Proven durability – Durability rating

Your work environment can get dirty, and your headphones need to be able to withstand dirt. ISOtunes products are designed to meet the highest standards of use in your workshop, yard, workplace and beyond. IP comes from the English word pair Ingress Protection, which stands for a standard introduced by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The purpose of the standard is to provide accurate information about the water and dust resistance of devices. The first number of the IP code indicates the dust and dirt resistance of the device (rating 0-6). The second number of the IP code indicates the water resistance of the device (rating 0-8). A rating of X means that the device has not been tested in this category. ISOtunes PRO Aware is IP67 rated for durability.
